Racers begin at the starting line from Lenox Square during the 47th running of the AJC Peachtree Road Race Monday July 4, 2016, in Atlanta.

What road race keeps you on your toes?

Last week’s Best of Atlanta poll was all about your favorite run in town.

All paths clearly lead to the AJC Peachtree Road Race, which was our winner by a mile. Held annually on the Fourth of July, this race attracts 60,000 runners and walkers of all abilities each year.

Go the distance from Buckhead to Midtown by crossing the epic finish line right beside Piedmont Park. If you're looking for the perfect race to set your sights on, this is the one.

Run The River 5K, 10K, Fun Run in Roswell comes in a close second with multiple distances to choose from that run along the Chattahoochee River. Proceeds are used to continue HomeStretch's mission of providing housing, hope and life skills to homeless families.

The Historic Oakland Cemetery's Run Like Hell 5K offers a unique experience with plenty of dedicated enthusiasts each year. As the largest cemetery run in the country, you might want to consider a running-friendly costume for this October event.

We've only just begun to share the bounty of races that Atlanta has year-round. Our runner-ups are also worth checking out: Race for the Cure (Buckhead), Spooktacular Chase (Cobb), Color Vibe 5K (DeKalb) and Hunger Walk/Run (Intown).

Put some fun back in your run with these seven trails located around Atlanta.

If you are looking for a little escape, head to the North Georgia Mountains and hit these gorgeous trails while you train.
