Nativity exhibit: An exhibit of over 300 nativity scenes from around the world is now on exhibit at The Episcopal Church of the Epiphany. From the elegant to the eccentric, the birth scenes are sculpted in materials ranging from carved wood to volcanic ash. There is also a special exhibit of nativity scenes that highlight the differences between the birth story as told in the Gospels of Luke and Matthew. Each of these nativities is accompanied by scriptural quotes and hymn texts. Admission is $5 for adults; free admission for children under 12. Christmas musical: Kids will be able to celebrate the season beginning with a musical performed by children in preK through fifth grade at 9 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Dec. 17. Meditative service: A quiet, meditative worship service will include the lighting of candles for remembrance and anointing of oil while making time to share with God and preparing for Christ on Christmas Day. The Rev. Robby Carroll, associate for pastoral care, will lead the service. Free and open to all. 6:30-7:30 p.m. Dec. 20. Family fun day: Children will be able to enjoy inflatables and ride-on toys, arts and crafts, table tennis, basketball and indoor swimming during a family-friendly day. Additionally, the Sophie Hirsh Srochi Discovery Center and Paradies Playground (weather permitting) will be open to families; adults will be able to take advantage of the gymnasiums, Northside Hospital Aquatic Center and Brill Family Fitness Center. Jubilee Day: The Annual Atlanta NAACP Observance of The Emancipation Proclamation by President Abraham Lincoln on Jan. 1, 1863, will be observed by faith leaders from across Atlanta.
