Once Bill and Anne Storey’s kids grew up, they traded living in a swim and tennis neighborhood in east Cobb County for a new home with a pool near historic Roswell.
“We were in a neighborhood that was great for them growing up,” Anne Storey said. “When we heard about this, (we thought) this sounds like an ideal location for us and a way to live.”
When they moved from their home of 22 years to the Goulding community, they decided to add a few new-to-them features, including a custom bar in the basement, transitional-style furniture and a backyard pool. They walk to restaurants such as Table & Main, Noca and Osteria Mattone on Roswell’s charming Canton Street, but still have space to host their kids during the holidays and make meals at home.
When they considered adding extras such as the pool, the empty nesters continued to think of their children.
“We thought, it’s great for when our children come home, and someday grandkids,” Anne Storey said.
