Noshfest
As the name suggests, you’re invited to nosh, nibble and snack your way through this Labor Day weekend food event that celebrates Jewish food and culture. The festival offers an array of ethnic and regional foods from partners throughout the metro Atlanta community, so you can pair that matzo ball soup with fried green tomatoes then top it all off with craft brew from Reformation Brewery. Browse the craft booths, tour Temple Kol Emeth’s sanctuary and let the little ones roam the kid zone, complete with inflatables and games. Enjoy live entertainment while resting up between bites that are priced $1-$5. Festival-goers are also encouraged to bring two canned food items that will go to support MUST Ministries in Cobb County.

ROSWELL
End of Summer Celebration
In 2000, the Cure’s frontman Robert Smith crooned how cold the last day of summer seems. That same year, the city of Roswell decided to heat things up and send summer off with a bang. Seventeen years later, the End of Summer Celebration is still going strong on the baseball field at Centennial High with carnival games, face painting and giant inflatables. There’s also a twist competition (kids only!), live bands and food from Shane’s Rib Shack. A fireworks display at dark will end the evening as you officially bid adieu to summer.

SUGAR HILL
Ben Folds and a piano
There’s only one man rockin’ the suburbs this Labor Day weekend. Head to Gwinnett County to catch Ben Folds as he brings his unique voice and modern piano riffs to The Bowl at Sugar Hill on Sept. 2. Known for hits with his band Ben Folds Five, the North Carolina native also has had a string of successes as a solo artist. Tickets are $45 for reserved seats, which are the only spaces left since Folds fans have already snapped up the spots on the lawn area.
