Party with animals and locals in the great outdoors during Zoo Atlanta's biggest 21 and up event of the year, Brew at the Zoo.
All the excitement kicks off at 5:30 this Saturday. In its 10th year, Brew at the Zoo, will keep the traditions the party is known for — live entertainment, exotic animals and alcoholic drinks. In addition to those Brew favorites, the 6,000 people planning to attend (according to Facebook) have much more in store this Memorial Day weekend.
Get ready for this rousing evening by taking an inside look into the five primal facts you should know about this year's Brew at the Zoo.
Expect to experience high-energy live bands.
Throughout the zoo Saturday, four bands will be set up to keep the melodies diverse and danceable. The Geeks, a local cover band that likes to play in costume, is headlining the concert on the main stage with powerful music that will make you want to sing along and dance with them.
The first act of the night 8 Second Ride, a modern country band from Middle Georgia, will deliver stirring harmonies with its five-piece band. Inthe Flamingo Plaza, RTW will blend dance, rock, pop and hip hop for an intense sound. Dreggae, a vocalist, will perform unique reggae music in the Africa Plains. On the Gorilla Deck, Brad Jackson will offer a music mashup of alternative country and new rock to get the crowd moving.
Plenty of beers will be available.
Don't expect for their to be any shortage of alcohol at Brew at the Zoo. The bars will be stocked with more than 70 types of beers for unlimited tasting. Blue Moon, Dos XX, Orpheus, Sweetwater and Southern Brewing Company are a few of the beers available for the event. If you aren't a beer person, no problem. A limited amount of wine will be offered to attendees for sampling.

There will be restricted access to dining options.
Only The Grill Shack, Grand Patio Grill and Ottery Cool will be open during Brew at the Zoo. Burgers and hot dogs are on the menu at the Grill Shack in the Elephant Barn, and Ottery Cool sells snacks like, ice cream, popcorn and cotton candy, in the Asian Forest. Grand Patio Grill is the only location that will stay open past 8 p.m. during the length of the event.
Come early if you plan to park.
Parking is limited to the Grant Park neighborhood and lots on Boulevard Avenue and Cherokee Avenue. Due to the sparse amount of parking, organizers suggest using ride sharing apps like Uber or Lyft for transportation, especially for those planning to enjoy the "brews" and don't have a designated driver.
Buy your tickets early.
Zoo Atlanta advises brew ambassadors to buy tickets in advance here, because they have sold out in the past. Brew at the Zoo members can gain entrance into the party at $45 a ticket, and non-members have to pay $50 online. VIP tickets are being sold on Zoo Atlanta's website at $100 and include entrance into a VIP Pre-Party inside an air-conditioned lounge area complete with beer, wine and a free t-shirt. If you wait until the day of the event and they are still available, tickets will be sold at $75 each.
