Famed Louisiana chef Paul Prudhomme has died at the age of 75.
WWL-TV reports that his death was confirmed by a representative of his restaurant, K-Paul's Louisiana Kitchen. A cause of death was not provided, only that Prudhomme died after a brief illness.
Prudhomme helped turn Commander’s Palace into an award-winning legend before he opened K-Paul’s Louisiana Kitchen in 1979. Over his career, the chef was hailed for revolutionizing Creole and Cajun cuisine.
Prudhomme wrote several cookbooks, hosted a popular cooking show on PBS and released his own line of Magic Seasoning Blends.
Prudhomme is survived by his wife, Lori.
