Athens-based student housing company Landmark Properties said this week the firm has acquired a Midtown site for a future 28-story tower.

Landmark said it acquired the 1.1-acre site at Spring and 10th streets, with plans to open the student housing tower in August 2020. Financing has not been announced. The company said the project, to be called The Mark at Atlanta, will feature more than 780 beds in 281 apartments, as well as some commercial space.

The tower is Landmark’s second in Atlanta. Landmark expects to complete The Standard, a 19-story, 765-bed student tower near Technology Square next fall.

The Mark will feature a rooftop pool, clubhouse, study lounges, golf simulator, sauna, tanning beds, fitness center and yoga room. The tower also will feature furnished apartments with up to six bedrooms.
