3 things to do in Atlanta on Friday the 13th

It's Friday the 13th! Looking for something different to do in Atlanta? Here are a few not-so-routine activities you can try this weekend and beyond:

Catch an award-winning film:  Hunter Gatherer took the Jury Award for Best Actor at SXSW and has been nominated for the Independent Spirit John Cassavetes Award. It is the debut film of writer/director Josh Locy and its limited release in 50 theaters nationwide includes the Friday the 13th opening at Southlake Pavilion 24, 7065 Mt Zion Circle in Morrow.

The film starts Andre Royo, who fans may recognize as "Bubbles" from HBOs The Wire, as well as his appearance on Fox TV's Empire as Lucious Lyon's attorney. In Hunter Gatherer, Royo stars as Ashley Douglas, a forty-something man after serving three years in prison for a crime we never know, returns home hoping that nothing has changed. But he quickly learns that his friends, his girlfriend and even his mom, has moved on.  The overly optimistic Ashley is forced to start over with a new set of friends, who while quirky, teach him the true meaning of friendship. Here's a look at the trailer:

Skate at Skate Atlantic Station, 1380 Atlantic Drive, Atlanta : The fun continues through Feb. 19 at Atlanta's largest outdoor ice skating rink. The rink is open 4 - 10 p.m., Mon. - Thurs.; 12 - 11 p.m., Fri. and Sat.; and 12 - 9 p.m. Sunday. Themed events include:
