Black Friday shoppers in Atlanta are gearing up to spend big money this holiday season. According to one estimate, consumer spending is up and shoppers in the metro-area plan to spend an average of $1,121 on holiday shopping.
Much of that shopping will take place during Thanksgiving weekend and the bulk of it will likely be spent at department stores, big box stores and national specialty retailers. While many shoppers wait until Small Business Saturday to shop at local business, many local shops offer Black Friday specials all weekend.
