Serenbe, the well-known agri-hood in Chattahoochee Hills, is taking a stab at affordable living. The planned community recently listed six homes at entry-level pricing starting at $340K.

The Mado Modern Shotgun homes are bringing back the shotgun house with a twist by playing off the narrow rectangular style homes that were popular in the South before falling out of favor in the early 1900s.

Of course, this being Serenbe, these one bedroom, one and a half bathroom shotgun homes are Geothermal and EarthCraft certified and feature an energy-efficient layout designed to lower the cost of utilities.

The 900 sq. ft. open floor plans feature living room and kitchen and half-bathroom on the main level with a bedroom and bathroom on the second level. There is also a 400 sq. ft. side yard. Three different floor plans are available with prices topping out at $350K.

The shotgun homes are located in Mado, a section of Serenbe that is currently under construction, and will also feature European-style cottages, senior living, retail and health services .
