Ciara sues ex-fiance Future for slander and $15 million

Atlanta-raised singer Ciara has filed a lawsuit against her ex-fiance for $15 million.

The lawsuit, obtained by the Jasmine Brand , was filed January 21 in Fulton County Superior Court. Ciara accuses Future, the father of her son (also named Future who was born in May 2014) of defamation, slander and libel.

The suit apparently stems from comments the hip-hop artist made in magazine and radio interviews and on social media about her parenting skills...or lack of, according to him.

Ciara says Future knowingly made false comments about her in an attempt to ruin her reputation and to promote his new album.

The Atlanta rapper released "EVOL" on Feb. 5, exclusive on Apple Music . He will perform in Atlanta in March.

According to the complaint, Ciara says his public comments have already had an impact on her professional opportunities (presumably a negative impact) which she needs to support her son.

Of particular concern, was a series of tweets in which Future suggested Ciara was preventing him from seeing his son even though he is paying $15,000 per month in child support. Ciara says in the lawsuit that $15K is a fantasy and Future has never paid that amount since birth -- in which case, she should probably file a different type of lawsuit -- but, that's a story for another day.

In any case, tweeps in Atlanta and beyond had plenty to say about the matter:

Gossip website TMZ did the honor of posting a video of a process server in California attempting to serve Future at LAX. The rapper never got out of his SUV.
