S&S Cafeteria patron attempts to bring similar concept to Tucker

When all know when one door closes another one opens and in this case, it's the door of S&S Cafeteria.

This weekend, the Embry Village location of the beloved Southern comfort food cafeteria closed  after becoming a victim of urban expansion. The store was in the path of giant Kroger Marketplace which also consumed a few other vacant spaces and businesses.

But as Tonetoatl.com reports , a former S&S patron and Northcrest resident has surfaced with the hopes of opening a similar style eatery in Tucker later this fall.

The planned restaurant -- The Magnolia Room -- will be located at Shops at Heritage Place on Hugh Howell Road. The resident purchased furniture, fixtures and equipment from S&S and would like to recreate a similar dining experience.

You may recognize the name Magnolia Room as an homage to the dining room at the former Rich's department store in downtown Atlanta.

According to the story, nothing is finalized. Lease negotiations are ongoing and it could take more time than anticipated for one man's dream to become a reality.
