Black Friday 2017: Don’t wait for Small Business Saturday to shop local

Consumer spending has increased this holiday season with shoppers spending 3 to 9 percent more each week during the first two weeks of November compared to the same time period last year.

Much of that shopping is happening online where Thanksgiving Day sales tracked a growth of 16.8 percent over last year, according to Adobe Analytics.

The majority of shoppers have been hitting the major retailers for their purchases, but anyone who wants to shop local need not wait until Small Business Saturday -- the shopping holiday promoted by American Express that focuses holiday spending on local businesses.

Here’s a look at just a few of the Black Friday sales from Atlanta-based (or Georgia-based) companies that are available now both in-stores and online:

Georgia Center for Child Advocacy (and other local charities): This isn't a deal, but you can support children through GCCA this season when you buy holiday gifts through AmazonSmile which donates 0.5 percent of the price of your eligible AmazonSmile purchases to the charitable organization of your choice.

Holly Beth Organics: Holly Beth Organics is moving to Clayton, Georgia to a new retail space and manufacturing facility. Now through Monday, get 25 percent off your purchase.
