Anthony Mackie gets trounced for Trump support

Actor Anthony Mackie got smacked out of the Twittersphere for suggesting that he maybe thinks Donald Trump isn't the worst presidential candidate ever.

Mackie, who recently wrapped production of "Captain America: Civil War" in Atlanta at Pinewood Studios, said in an interview with BET.com that the best actors on the planet are politicians .

He went on to say:

“I would 100 percent want to run Trump’s campaign. 100 percent,” he said. “I mean, first that’ll be the best party ever when he won, and second, Trump’s an easy sell… When you look at Trump, he’s an easy sell because you can sell him as the guy who worked his way up from nothing. And I think if you’re a ‘pull yourself up by your bootstraps’ candidate, people would identify with that.”

That may not exactly constitute an "endorsement" but it was enough for Twitter to go snap:

Of course, all of this will likely be forgiven and forgotten by the time the movie comes out in May 2016.
